About us
Welcome to the web site of the Western North Carolina Orchid Society (WNCOS.) We
are a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. We wish to share the excitement
and joy of cultivating orchids, and we promote orchid habitat conservation.
The Society was originally formed in September of 1962 and is an affiliate of the American Orchid Society (AOS.)
The Society generally meets on the second Sunday of each month at Asheville Eye Associates.
The office of Asheville Eye is just off Sweeten Creek Road in Asheville, NC.
Our meetings begin at 2 PM and are free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome!

The Board meets monthly at Community Action Opportunities (CAO) in Asheville.
Members of the Society are always welcome to attend these meetings.
